PEOPLE. THEN PRODUCTS.
I’m a user researcher who loves helping teams make products and services more meaningful and usable—for people!
By focusing on the human factor,
I help teams make better, faster decisions.
In today’s world of rapid design, many teams jump to the “what” of research (test, test, test, etc.) but they often struggle understanding the “why” behind what people actually do with their products in those tests, and more importantly, in the real-world. They’re missing a deep understanding of human behavior, the human factor!
Starting with people and known user behaviors (the human factor) helps increase the likelihood of creating productive, easy to learn experiences. Starting with people also helps teams field research studies that lead to better, faster decisions.
For the past 15+ years I’ve helped US and International teams identify, launch, and improve dozens of products & services. People. Then products.

Quick Highlight: Lattice
I joined the Lattice team to help bring what was then a new product concept, Lattice Compensation, over the finish line and into the marketplace.
The team had foundational research in place but needed to strengthen the user insights required to meet the needs of small- to mid-sized companies with increasingly complex compensation program workflows.
As the Lead UX Researcher, in the year leading up launch, I established a mixed-methods learning approach to help the team make better decisions, faster. The research strategy included:
Driving discovery interviews to understand the 5 Ws of compensation programs and inform product roadmap decisions.
Running usability evaluations to advance design decisions and improve product interactions.
Hosting a weekly interview (listening) series to help the team better empathize with people leaders responsible for compensation programs and, it turns out, a lot more.
Managing an Early Adopter Testing program to observe our product in the real-world and learn alongside our very first customers!
Working within a start-up environment, on a highly sensitive topic like compensation, required rapid but conscientious user research. I enjoyed the chance to blend my human factors and entrepreneurial thought & action backgrounds to help build a better solution! Lattice Compensation launched in July 2022.
