ABOUT
The chatting over coffee (human) bio
Hi! My name is Mike Flynn. I love learning about how people and businesses work and then trying to figure out ways to make things better for both. That’s what I do. And that’s why I love being a user experience researcher!
At this point, I have 15+ plus years practicing user research in the field. I’ve worked for companies you’d easily recognize and some you’ve never heard of. I’ve worked on products you use daily. I’ve worked on products that require a practiced elevator pitch to simply explain. I’ve worked on products that no longer exist. And I’ve helped create a few new ones too!
In all of these situations, I brought a thoughtful, collaborative approach to research and tried to ensure we were learning in the right way at the right time, gathering valid insights, and making the best decisions we could, based on what we knew (or didn’t) at the time.
I love diving into understanding what life is like today and collaborating to improve experiences for tomorrow.
I’ve strengthened the foundation of my research career with a Masters in Human Factors in Information Design from Bentley University, an MBA from Babson College, and a range of continuing-ed courses. Did I say I also love taking classes!
I live with my family near Boston, Massachusetts (hub-of-the-universe) and enjoy getting outdoors, spending days on the beach, and taking on home improvement projects.
Want to learn a bit more about me? Maybe work together? Get in touch.
